Intermercato Log Skidder Grapple in Action on a Bobcat

This video shows WA Treeworks operating their Intermercato Log Grapple TG22S with a hydraulic rotator on a big site clean up job north of Perth, Australia.

The log grapple allows arborists to quickly skid over bulk vegetation straight into the chipper rather than manhandling small branches, saving time and giving operators a break from manually dragging branches, which they appreciate on 40 degree days!

The hydraulic 360 degree continuous rotator available on larger models allows the operator to quickly position grapple for the optimum grip of the log while dragging and slip it straight into the chipper. Dragging bigger sections means less chainsawing for the crew giving superior working conditions, lower fuel consumption and rapid completion. The video shows how awkward some trunks are, yet the grapple handles it with ease. A standard grapple bucket would not be able to cart such bulk loads, but the grapple can easily drag them.

Intermercato Grapples are available for just about every machine - excavators and cranes up to 40 tonnes, skid steers, stand on loaders, and articulated wheel loaders.

Older Style Log Skidding Grapple

Designed as a labour saver for arborists and tree loppers with small stand-on loaders, working in built-up areas, the Intermercato log skidding grapple enables the user to drag out whole trees end on and push them straight into a chipper, or onto a truck for later processing.

Traditionally its always been hard to grab a log end-on as this puts a lot of weight on individual tines, bending your bucket. The gipping force is also difficult with a grapple bucket to exert enough pressure on the end of the log so it constantly slips out. The self centring log grapple technology has been used by forwarders and excavators in forestry for over 50 years, but is only now available for smaller loaders.

The load is ideally skidded along the ground for safety and lifted slightly to push into the chipper.

Log skidding grapples are manual rotate or hydraulic rotate.

Designed to fit excavators, skid steers, loaders, bobcats, stand on loaders, kangas, dingos, and more.

Intermercato Grapple Saw in Action on Truck Crane

Intermercato GS220 Log Saw Grapple working in a cemetery in Europe. Due to the delicate nature of the job, only the Intermercato Saw Grapple could be used on this job as lowering branches immediately below the tree was not an option. Extensive rigging could have been used to slide over branches, however the saw grapple can do all the work of a tree climber faster and without putting any personnel at risk. All work is undertaken on the ground with a set of remote controls and logs to be removed can be placed straight into a truck for cartage.

Intermercato Grapples are available for just about every machine - excavators and cranes up to 40 tonnes, skid steers, stand on loaders, and articulated wheel loaders.
